A number of words (nouns are better) are written on the board and a circle put around all of them. Get all the students to stand up. The students to ask the teacher a yes/no question with one of the words that are on the board. Students put up their hand to ask a question. If the answer is “Yes”, then that student may sit down and the word they used is removed from the board. Continue until all the words are gone from the board or all the students are sitting. Some of the later questions may need some clues (the difficult ones get avoided until the end).

Variations[]

For more advanced students, remove the option of a “do you like なに” question. This makes them have to think of different sentence structures.
