Can I be really finicky and just point out that in the unlikely event you have a fixed-gear hardcore cyclist wanting to take part the 'How?' rule would exclude him/her?
I know you want to exclude mama-charis, but I do know at least one cyclist who could probably do that route on a single-speed fixed-gear road bike.
