Onta (小鹿田村 onta-mura?) is a small pottery village about 20 min drive north of Hita city in Oita Prefecture.

Onta pottery (onta-yaki) is a distinctive style of pottery, originally introduced from Korea. The tradition which is passed down each generation by the approximately dozen families, boasts a 300 year old heritage. Produced without electricty, they continue the old style, with beige & green being the most traditional colours.
