Iida is a city of about 100,000 people in the south of Nagano Prefecture. There are JETs in Fuetsu Senior High (2 who also visit Anan Senior High and Osahime Senior High) and Iida Senior High (who also visits Matsukawa Senior High). Iida Kogyou (Technical) Senior High and Iida Shimono (Agricultural) Senior High are visited by the JET based in Achi Senior High.
Currently all Junior High Schools in Iida have AETs employed by the local board of education and brought over from England by a local language school.
