Chugakko

Chugakko (中学校, chūgakkō^?) literally translates as "middle school" (中 for middle and 学校 for school). Mostly interpreted as "junior high school" because of a decree from the Ministry of Education requiring "chugakko" being stated as "junior high school" when written in English (despite the literal translation being perfectly acceptable in English).
